Ethel B. Arbuckle Malone, 94, of Monticello, passed away at 10:55 pm, Monday, July 30, 2018 at I U Health White Memorial Hospital.She was born on January 25, 1924 in Jasper County to the late Nate and Pearl (Becker) Eldridge. In 1945, she married Paul Arbuckle, Sr. and he preceded her in death in 1978. In 1979, she married Lyman "Pat" Malone and he preceded her in death in 1993.Ethel was primarily a homemaker but also worked short stints at REMC, Monon Trailer and later full time at Bryans. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was an avid bridge player. She enjoyed golf in her earlier years and was a former member of the Tippecanoe Country Club. Ethel was a member of the Redmens Lodge, AM-VETS Auxiliary and a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary, all of Monticello. Surviving are her children, Paul Arbuckle and Paula (Joe) Newgent both of Monticello; six grandchildren, one step granddaughter, eight great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.She was also preceded in death by her son, Larry Arbuckle and infant daughter; sisters, Iva Smith and Sarah Rhodes; brothers, Roscoe and Irving Eldridge; and one step grandson.Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of services at 1:00 pm celebrating Ethel's life on Monday, August 6, 2018 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Rev. Chris Dodson of the Monticello Christian Church officiating.Burial will follow in Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to the White County Food Pantry with envelopes available at the funeral home.Messages of condolence may be extended at www.springerfuneralhome.com
