Elizabeth Zarse

Elizabeth J. "Betty" Zarse, 88, of Monticello, died at 12:43 pm on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Whispering Pines in Monticello. She was born September 12, 1923 in Mishawaka to the late Cecil and Agnus (Firth) Harrison. Her marriage was to Theodore D. Zarse on February 14, 1942 in Lafayette. He preceded her in death in 1993. Mrs. Zarse was a member of the Reynolds Christian Church and also attended the Monticello Christian Church. She had a ceramic shop in the 70's and worked at Indiana Beach for several years. She loved to play euchre. She is survived by 4 daughters, Edna Helterbran of Camden, Deborah (Jim) Jones of Kokomo, Ruth Ames of Monticello, Jessie (John) Byroad of Monon; 2 sons, Fritz (Linda) Zarse of Florida, John (Deanna) Zarse of Monticello; Brother, Sam Wonders of Reynolds; Sister, Ruth Bonifield of Kansas City; 15 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou Gruberman Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the 11am funeral service on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home.
