Elizabeth E. Rupe, 66, of Monticello died at 2:15 am, Monday, September 12, 2011, at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare Center. She was born July 14, 1945 in Indianapolis to the late Ted and Ruby (Cromer) Zimmerman. Her marriage to Frank J. Rupe was on August 20, 1966 in French Lick and he survives. Elizabeth grew up in Speedway, Indiana and was a 1963 graduate of Speedway High School where she was a member of the band and National Honor Society. She attended Ball State and Indiana State Universities where she studied elementary education. Early in her career, she operated an in home preschool. She retired in 2002 from Comprehensive Development Center (CDC) after 27 years as an administrative assistant. She was a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and also Tri Kappa. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and watching her sons and granddaughter play sports. She is also survived by two sons, Mike Rupe of Lafayette, Frankie (Shelli) Rupe of Lebanon; sister, Judy (Trent) Anderson of Wilmette, Illinois; and granddaughter, Siera Rupe of Monticello. Visitation will be from 4 pm until 8 pm, Wednesday, September 14 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Private graveside services will be at Hughes Cemetery.
