Eleanor Martin Young

Eleanor Martin Young, 87, of Monticello died at 8:18, pm, Thursday, April 8, 2010 at White County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Carroll County, Indiana July 8, 1922 to the late Walter and Eppie (Lesh) Martin. Her marriage was to George R. Young on April 12, 1947 and he preceded her in death in 1958. She was a 1940 graduate Delphi High School and also Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Indianapolis. She was a veteran of the United States Army Nurses Corps serving during World War II. She was employed at White County Memorial Hospital and Monticello Healthcare Center for many years, retiring in 1987. Surviving are a daughter, Patricia (Glen) Willoughby of Monticello; and a sister Mary (George) Hildebran of Port Charlotte, Florida. She is preceded in death by a son, Thomas Young; a brother, Robert Martin; a grandson; and two granddaughters. Visitation will be from 4 pm until 8 pm, Sunday, April 11, 2010 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 am, Monday, at the funeral home with Charlie Roberts of Calvary Temple officiating. Burial will follow at Camden Cemetery, Camden.
