Eleanor Combs

Eleanor "Ellie" Bertha Combs, 94, of Monticello, passed away at 10:55am , Saturday, February 10, 2024 at Monticello Healthcare in Monticello.

She was born on December 7, 1929 in Lowell to the late Hugo and Edna Poppe.

Eleanor was a graduate of Lowell High School.  She worked for Bryan Manufacturing and then retired from Tru Flight Arrow both in Monticello. Eleanor loved to read and crochet afghans for her family and herself.  She was a member of the American Legion in Monticello. The family would like to thank The Cottages at Monticello Healthcare for their kind and compassionate care.  

She is survived by two daughters, Lynne (Bruce) Hainje of Lafayette and Christine  Cohagan of Monticello; one son, Tony (Patty) Combs of Kentland. Eleanor was a wonderful grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother to many. 

She was also preceded in death by a sons, David and Dan Combs and siblings, Bob, Ruth, Alice and Diana. 

Upon request of the family, no services are scheduled at this time.
