Elaine Maxine Rump was born to Fred and Freida Rump of 10959 Esmond Street, Chicago, Illinois on February 16, 1925 where she was raised until she graduated from Morgan Park High School in 1943. She then became a bookkeeper for the Rock Island Railroad until she married Lt. Robert (Bob) Nagel on April 27, 1946. He survives along with their children: Craig (Marianne) Nagel of Griffith, Indiana; Glenn (Brenda Jo) Nagel of Merrillville, Indiana; Karen (Dan) Gribble of Hebron, Indiana and Gayle (Joe) Rogers of Monticello, Indiana; 12 grandchildren and more than a dozen great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by brother, Lester Rump and twin brother, Kenneth Rump. Elaine lived much of her adult life in Griffith, Indiana as devoted wife and mother. In 1974 she and Bob moved to Monee, Illinois where they resided until moving to Monticello, Indiana in 2001. Elaine has been a resident of Monticello Health Care for the past four years. Thanks to the Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare staff for providing her the best quality life possible, the utmost in healthcare and loving personal care in her declining years. Elaine loved to laugh, she loved sports both as spectator and participant, she enjoyed yellow roses and being outdoors in the sunshine, she adored dogs and, above all, cherished time spent with her family. The Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home will arrange for her cremation.
