Edward 'Ed' Katchmar

Edward "Ed" Katchmar, 76, of Monticello passed away at 1:32 a.m., Sunday, August 10, 2008 at White County Memorial Hospital. He was born on March 22, 1932 in Woodriver, IL, to Andrew and Anna (Podhorn)Katchmar. He married Shirley (Tomaszewski) Katchmar on October 28, 1950in Chicago, IL. She survives in Monticello. Mr. Katchmar graduated from Hammond Tech High School. He attend Purdue Calumet Extension. He was a Design Draftsman and had been employed by John Mohr and Sons. He retired in 1989 from ATSI in Munster, IN. He attended Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. Mr. Katchmar was an avid Stamp Collector. He is survived by: Son, Dan (Bernie) Katchmar of Monticello, IN Brother, Leo (Maria) Katchmar of Whittier, CA 2 Grandchildren, 1 Great Granddaughter He is preceded in death by his Parents and one brother. Visitation will be held from 4pm to 8pm, Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 4pm. Funeral Services will be at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Wednesday, August 13, 2008, 10:30am with Father Gerald Borawski officiating. Burial will be held at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
