EDITH M. DUNHAM Edith M. Dunham, age 91, of Edgewater, Florida, formerly of Monticello, died June 16, at Oceanview Nursing and Rehab Center, New Smyrna Beach, Florida. Edith was born on April 12, 1918 to the late Nobel and Mabel (Schuster) Cory in Indianapolis. After graduating from Shortridge High School in Indianapolis, she played on the Independent 7UP girls basketball team. She was a member of the Methodist church in Indianapolis. On April 18, 1942 she married James A. Dunham in Indianapolis and resided most of her married life in Monticello. Mrs. Dunham also held memberships in the Sundown Saddle Club, where she enjoyed horseback riding, the Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary, The Tippecanoe Country Club and was a lifetime member of The Eastern Star Crystal Chapter # 165, where she played the organ for many years, all in Indiana. In 1973, she was the Womens Indiana Hole in One golf champion. Mrs. Dunham moved in 1997 to the home in Cory Estates that her father and uncle had developed and built for her and her late husband. She became an active member of the Brannon Center in New Smyrna Beach, where she was an avid bridge player. Her interest in crafts led her to become an accomplished counted cross stitch artist and her handmade greeting cards are cherished by many. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Cubs. Survivors include her daughter, Donna L. Geisler of Edgewater, Florida; 3 grandchildren, Julie (John) VanCleve of Monticello, JoEllen (Mark) Kelley of Monticello, and James (Jackie) Melin of Redondo Beach, California; 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband James, a son Daniel, and 2 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m., Friday, June 26, 2009 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with Eastern Star services at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 27, 2009 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Murphy from the Idaville Church of God officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Ediths name to The Brannon Center Bridge Group or Meals on Wheels, both at 105 S. Riverside Drive, New Smyrna Beach, Florida 32168; Oceanview Nursing and Rehab Center, 2810 S.
