Dorothy A. "Dottie" Goodwin, 82, of Remington, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024 at her home in Remington.  

She was born on July 30, 1942 in Wolcott to the late George and Margaret (Kingma) Brown. On September 3, 1960 she married Charles Arthur "Art" Goodwin at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Remington. He preceded her in death August 31, 2012. 

Dottie was a 1960 graduate of Wolcott High School. She drove a school bus for Tri-County School Corporation for over 26 years. She also was the bookkeeper for Goodwin Fire Equipment for 47 years.  She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Sodality at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Remington. Dottie was a homemaker and wonderful seamstress who made and altered clothing. She was an avid Cubs fan and enjoyed playing BINGO at the Lions Club on Thursdays, Eagles on Fridays, and Knights of Columbus on Sundays. She cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  

She is survived by three sons, Steve (Cindy) Goodwin of Remington, Kevin (Nancy) Goodwin of Remington, and Andy (Heather) Goodwin of West Lafayette; seven grandchildren, Travis (Sara) Goodwin, Sarah Goodwin, Emily Goodwin, Seth (Kara) Goodwin, Cassie (Dylan Dabkowski) Goodwin, Gavin Goodwin, Gage Goodwin; three sisters, Leona Lehman, Frances "Fran" Farney, Velma (Harry) Stortz; and eleven great grandchildren.  

In addition to her husband, Art, she was also preceded in death by siblings, Rose Mathew, Norbert Brown, Paul Brown, Edwin Brown, Kenneth Brown, Mary Bollier, and Raymond Brown.  

Visitation will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Remington from 9:00 am (EST) until 10:45 am, Friday, January 3, 2025 with a praying of the Rosary at 10:45 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow with Fr. Joshua Bennett, the celebrant.  

Private family burial will follow at the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Remington.  

Memorial contributions may be given to Sacred Heart Catholic Church or donors choice. Envelopes will be available at the church.
