Dorothy E. Marnitz, 90, of Danville, formerly of Monticello died at 7:08 am, Sunday, February 6, 2011, at Manor Care at Prestwick in Avon. She was born October 16, 1920 at Reynolds to the late John and Maggie (Robertson) Marnitz. She was a lifetime member of Reynolds United Methodist Church where she held many offices. She was also active with the church study club. She retired from the grocery in Reynolds after 30 years of employment. She then went to work for Easton Tru Flite for an additional sixteen years. She was active with the White County Republican Women. She was a member of the Monticello Moose Auxilary, and former member of the Eagles Auxilary both of Monticello. She was active with White County Council on Aging. She was a fifty year member of the Rebekah Lodge and Pythian Sisters Homemakers Club. She is survived by a brother, Lloyd (Margaret) Marnitz of Lexington, Kentucky; four nephews, Aaron Marnitz of Orlando, Florida, Gerald (Janet) Short of Pontiac, Illinois, Chris (Kim) Marnitz of Lexington, Kentucky, Brad (Susan) Marnitz of Houston, Texas; and a niece, Neta Marnitz of Columbia, Missouri Funeral services will be at 2pm Thursday, February 10, 2011 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with Rev. Andrea Bremmer officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to services Thursday, February 10, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, rural Monticello.
