Dorothy Lillian Rose, 85, of Monticello died at 10:50 am, December 26, 2009 at Lake Barrington Woods Assisted Living, Lake Barrington, Illinois She was born August 8, 1924 at Rensselaer to the late Elmer and Rosie (Oberlander) Stoller. Her marriage was to Floyd Melton Rose on June 30, 1946 in Monticello. He preceded her in death on October 11, 1991. Mrs. Rose was a homemaker. She was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church. She was a member of the NIPSCO Retirement club. She enjoyed quilting and was a member of the Methodist Church quilt club. She was also active in Rainbow at the church. Survivors include: son, Floyd M. (Naomi) Rose Jr. of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin; daughter, Kathy L. (Calvin) Swiger of Barrington Hills, Illinois; 5 grandchildren, Kristy Noel Foster, Bradley Shawn Knochel, Aaron Douglas Knochel, Laura Beth Rose, and Matthew Jordan Rose; 5 great-grandchildren, Jordan Nicole Foster, Walter Horton Foster IV, Alexandria Rose Foster, Patrick Aaron Knochel, and Cora Michelle Knochel. She is also preceded in death by 2 sisters and 1 brother. Visitation will be from 11 am (EST)until the time of services at 1 pm (EST), Tuesday, December 29 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Beeks of the Monticello United Methodist Church officiating. Private burial will be in Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, rural Monticello. Memorial donations may be given to the White County Food Pantry, P.O. Box 323, Monticello, IN 47960. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
