Doris M. Corbin, 94, of Monticello, passed away at 5:15 am, Thursday, September 18, 2014 at White Oak Health Campus. She was born on October 12, 1919 in Kentland to the late Clifford C. and Jessie (Cobb) Morgan. On February 11, 1940, in Kentland she married William J. Corbin, and he preceded her in death July 15, 1999. Doris was a graduate of A.J. Kent High School in Kentland and worked as bank auditor at the Kentland Bank. She was a loyal member of the Monticello United Methodist Church where she was active in the Emma Stewart Circle, was the church librarian, served as head financial clerk, and served on various committees of the church. She was faithful with her morning devotions and reading her Bible. She had read completely through the Bible many times over the past several decades. She cherished her family, her church, and her church family. Surviving are her children, Dr. William R. (Donna) Corbin of Monticello, Sandra McClintic of Houston, TX, Dr. John C. (Marilyn) Corbin of Monticello; six grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Ralph, Fred, Merle, and Wayne Morgan; and sister, Inez Whaley. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Brian Beeks of the Monticello United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Monticello United Methodist Church with envelopes available at the funeral home.
