Donna L. (Dunham) Geisler, age 67, of Monticello, IN formerly of Edgewater, FL, passed away surrounded by friends and family on November 22, 2013 at IUH White Memorial Hospital, Monticello, Indiana. Donna was born on January 19, 1946 to the late James A and Edith M (Cory) Dunham in Indianapolis. She graduated co-valedictorian of New Harmony High School class of 1964. On November 22, 1974 she married the late Carl E. Geisler in Idaville. She resided in Monticello during her married life. She retired from NIPSCO after almost 30 years and was a grievance negotiator for Union Local 13796 United Steel Workers of America. She moved to Cory Estates in Edgewater FL to care for her ailing mother in 2006. After her mother passed in 2009, she started living her "bucket list" and was always up for a new adventure. She fought a brave fight with cancer and liver disease with the help of her friend and caregiver, Grace Youngberg. She was a member of Idaville Church of God, Belle Vista Southern Baptist, Edgewater Alliance, Tri-Kappa, Oder of Eastern Star Crystal Chapter #165 of Monticello, and Poker Club. She also belonged to a Grief group, the Elks, Library Group and Card Gang in FL. She was a devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was an avid collector, bridge player and shutter bug. Her interests also included dancing, traveling, stained glass, and genealogy. She is also preceded in death by her father-in-law (Paul) Geisler; brother, Daniel; daughter, Mary; a grandchild, Stacie; and a great-grandchild. Survivors include her daughters, Julie (John) Van Cleve of Monticello, JoEllen (Mark) Kelley of Monticello; son James (Jackie) Melin of Belfast, N. Ireland; mother-in-law Wilma Geisler; 10 Grandchildren, Brittany (Caleb) McCall, Tiffany Willoughby (fiance-Jonathan Armstrong), Casondra (Justin) Laffoon, Jake Melin, Riley Melin, Carson Kelley, Andrea (Tony) Cohen, Megan Van Cleve, Camron Kelley, Daniel Melin; and 7 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3pm until 9pm, Monday, December 2, 2013 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Eastern Star services will be at 7:00pm. Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Tuesday, December 3 at the funeral home with Pastors Joe Roach and Al Rockey officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery in rural Monticello. Memorial contributions may be made in Donna's name to Crazy Horse Memorial, Idaville Church of God, or to Boys and Girls Club of White County. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
