Dona J. Julien

Dona J. Julien, 86, of Monticello, passed away at 9:05 am, Friday, August 15, 2014 at IU Health White Memorial Hospital in Monticello. She was born on November 22, 1927 in Delphi to the late Russell and Sarah (Mullendore) Rockhill. In August of 1946, she married Leland V. Julien, and he preceded her in death. Dona was a 1945 graduate of Monticello High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Yeoman United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, sewing, needle point, and watching baseball. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Sarah and Randy Chapman of Avon, Larry Julien of Monticello, Shirley Julien of Monticello, Marilyn (Bob) Loomis of Loveland, Colorado, Barbara L. Julien (companion, Dean Berkshire ) of Delphi; sister, Mary Jo Hughes of Monticello; two brothers, Dale "Gene" Rockhill of Monticello, William "Ed" Rockhill of Lafayette; six grandchildren, Jill, Sam, Thad, Elizabeth, Katy, and Mike; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Charlie, Zoey, Justin, Troy, Emma, Toby, Kayden, Mason, Jada, Cameran, Sam, Jr., and Jarrett. She was also preceded in death by a son, Marvin Julien; and a great-grandson, Trevor. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of services at noon, Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Rev. Doug Thompson of the Yeoman United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Yeoman Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Yeoman United Methodist Church with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
