Dolores Ann Kelly

Dolores Ann Kelly, 85, of Plymouth, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at her residence in Plymouth.

She was born on November 14, 1939 in White County, close to Brookston to the late Aloysious I. "Al" and Louise (Becker) Kirchgessner. On February 15, 1958 she married James E. Kelly in Delphi. He preceded her in death on November 14, 2023.

She was a 1957 graduate of Brookston High School and worked as a secretary at Purdue University. She also remained involved with their farming which she enjoyed very much. 

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed drawing, painting, sewing and horses. She was a big Elvis fan. Most of all, she enjoyed her family.

She is survived by three sons, Daniel A. (Julie) Kelly of Plymouth, Michael Kelly of Farmington, AR, Mark (Kathy) Kelly of Cloverdale; grandchildren, April (Jarrod) Bradley, Megan Walleske, Jon Kelly, Jennifer Kelly, Amanda Kelly (partner, J.T. Stewart), and Allene Kelly; bonus grandchild, Morgan Elijah; and great-grandchildren, Owen Walleske and A.J. Donaldson.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jim, she was also preceded in death by siblings, Helen Ziegler, Lee, Joseph and Charles Kirchgessner.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 4, 2025 from 10:00 am until the time of services celebrating Dolores' life at 11:00 am at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Rev. Lelan McReynolds officiating. The family requests that casual attire be worn.

Burial will follow in Chalmers Cemetery.

The family was happy to be able to donate Dolores' pacemaker to Purdue University Veterinary School.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Juvenile Diabetes Association or Chalmers Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
