Dixie Rae Lods

Dixie Rae (Griessbach) Lods, 90, of Monticello passed away on July 24, 2021 at Monticello Healthcare. She was born on June 15, 1931 in Indianapolis to the late Max and Myrtle Griessbach. Dixie married Jim on September 15, 1951 and they were married for 64 years prior to his death in October, 2015.
Dixie is survived by her two sons, Larry (Sharon) Lods of Lafayette, and Dennis (Joan) Lods of Carmel; three granddaughters, Ren (Travis) Parker of Battle Ground. Stacy Lods of Lafayette, and Ashley (Adam) Wright of Lafayette. In addition, she leaves great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Chase, Kail, Cooper, and Connor; and sister, Maxine (Rod) Schreck.
Dixie was a homemaker taking care of her sons until 1970 when she started working as a receptionist at Connersville High School. She enjoyed taking her sons to sports practices and games, playing cards with her family, playing the piano and reading magazines and working crossword puzzles. She loved working in her flower beds and pots, especially at her home on Lake Freeman in Monticello. She also enjoyed her summer weekends with Jim at their trailer/campground and then home on Klinger Lake in Sturgis, MI where she loved to fish and eat at her favorite restaurants.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 31, 2021 from 11:00 am until the time of services celebrating Dixie's life at 1:00 pm, at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello.
Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
