Dennis R. Daetwiler

Dennis R. Daetwiler, "Double D", 74, of Monticello, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2019 at White Oak Health Campus.
He was born on February 19, 1945 to the late Lauren and Geraldine (Murray) Daetwiler. On June 14, 1975 he married the former Justine Hivick in Bridgeview, IL and she survives.
He was a graduate of Center High School in Kansas and worked his career as carpenter owning and operating Double D Home Improvements on the south side of Chicago until his retirement. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force.
He enjoyed woodworking in his garage, fishing, and cutting the grass using his John Deere Tractor.
In addition to his wife, Justine of Monticello Dennis is survived by his children, Ron (Michelle) Christ of Texas, Randy (Lillian) Christ of Chicago Ridge, IL, Tara (Jim) Wrobel of Homer Glen, IL; sister, Linda (Lyn) Barrington of Kansas; sister-in-law, Gail Daetwiler of Florida; and five grandchildren, Kayla, Riley, Rayne, Angique, and Zoey; .
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Larry Daetwiler.
Military Honors will be held at 1 pm (EST), 12:00 Chicago time at the Amvets Memorial, on Saturday, January 11, 2020. The Monticello Amvets is located at 219 Northwestern, Ave., Monticello, IN.
A celebration of Dennis' life will immediately follow at 2 pm Saturday, at his home.
