Dennis L. Wakeland

Dennis L. Wakeland Jr., 33, of Lafayette died at 2:08 pm, Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at his residence. He was born February 2, 1979 in Monticello to Dennis L. Wakeland Sr., of Monticello who surivives, and the late Nancy (Winebrenner) Wakeland.. He was a member of the Idaville Church of God and graduated from Twin Lakes High School in 1998 and then attended Purdue University. In his youth, he played football with the Monticello Youth Football League and also for Twin Lakes Middle School and High School. He was an avid Colts fan and was considered by many to be a walking sports encyclopedia. He enjoyed all types of card games. Also surviving are 2 brothers, Kenneth Wakeland of Ames, Iowa and Robert Wakeland of West Lafayette; 2 sisters, Sally Wakeland of Lafayette and Kaylee (Vince) Vita of Anderson; and grandmother, Ima Jean Wakeland. He was also preceded in death by grandparents, Dean M. Wakeland, and William and Mildred Winebrenner. Visitation will be from 1pm until the time of service at 3 pm, Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the Idaville Church of God with his uncle, Rev. Mark Wakeland and Rev. Al Rockey officiating.
