Dennis Johnson

Dennis W. Johnson, 53, of Monticello, passed away at 8:46 pm on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at IU Health White Memorial Hospital in Monticello. He was born November 24, 1959 in Winamac, to the late Theadore and Ruth (Onken) Johnson McCraken. Mr. Johnson graduated from Twin Lakes High School. He worked at Jordan Manufacturing since 1987 in the cutting room. He was a loyal member of the White County Pool League. For the past several years he played in the Valley National 8-Ball League Association Tournament (VNEA Pool Leagues). Mr. Johnson enjoyed fishing and horse shoes. He lived his life quiet and simple. He is survived by a daughter, Mindi Johnson of Cedar Rapids, IA; 2 brothers, Ed Johnson of Monticello and Raymond (Denise) Johnson of rural Winamac; a sister, Lori Franke of Indianapolis. He is also preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Owens. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 22, 2013 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Monticello. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 23, 2013 at 10:30 am at the Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Monticello, with Pastor Tom Albaum officiating. Burial will take place in the Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, rural Monticello. Memorial contributions may be given to the White County Food Pantry. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
