Deanna 'Dee' Nipple Wilkerson

Deanna "Dee" Nipple Wilkerson, 77, of Monticello, passed away at 8:30 am, Monday, May 19, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on December 11, 1936 to the late John and Kathryn (Louden) Buchanan in Bedford. On July 15, 1956, she married Robert "Bob" Nipple at the United Methodist Church in Yeoman, and he preceded her in death on November, 21 1996. On January 1, 2006, she married Archie "Don" Wilkerson in Reynolds. He passed away at home on May 21, 2014 and his services will be combined with Dee's in a double ceremony. She was a 1955 graduate of Monticello High School and worked as head of housekeeping at Indiana Beach from which she retired following many years of service. She was a member of the Women of the Moose and served as Collegiate Senior Regent. Dee was also a past girl scout leader. She enjoyed reading, fishing sewing, and camping. She is survived by daughters, Lori Guy of South Bend, Karen Nipple of Yeoman, Kathy (Brian) Hartl of Sturgeon Bay, WI, Kristy (Jerry) Campbell of Lafayette; son, Robert Nipple of Lafayette; step daughters, Donna (Jerry) Zerth of Monticello and Darlene (Rick) Davis of Monticello; step son, Donnie (Angie) Wilkerson of Reynolds; sisters, Beverly Sue Brenton of Indianapolis, Betty Jo Thomas of Fort Wayne and Mary Lou Buchanan of Monticello; brother, Steve Younger; grandchildren, Michael and Mark Guy, Bryce Hartl, Alec, Holly, and Emily Smith. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Edward Younger. Visitation for both Dee and Don will be from 2:00 pm until the time of services at 5:00 pm Saturday, May 24, 2014 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Zach Wolf of the Monticello Christian Church officiating. Private burial for Dee will be in Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to Natalie's Second Chance, a no kill animal shelter, 105 S. 16th St., Lafayette, IN 47905. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
