Corinne "Cody" M. Hay

Corinne M. "Cody" Hay, 95, of Monticello, passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at White Oak Health Campus.

She was born on July 4, 1928 in Indianapolis to the late Herman C. and Nola (Ballard) Little.  On July 6, 1946 she married Harold C. Hay at the Christian Church in Oaklandon, Indiana.  He preceded her in death on April 23, 2014. 

Cody was a graduate of Indianapolis Arsenal Tech High School.  She was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church.  She was a farm wife and managed the accounting for the family farm.  She was also a secretary for the North White School Corporation at Buffalo Elementary School for many years.  

Cody was a past 4-H board member.  She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, bird watching, and jigsaw puzzles.  In their earlier years, Cody and Harold enjoyed their annual summer vacation trips to northern Michigan.   

She is survived by her son, Mark H. (Michelle) Hay of Monticello; granddaughter, Lyndsi Hay of Chicago and grandson, Andrew (Erin) Hay of Jupiter, Florida; and two great-granddaughters, Thea Ivy and Palmer Halston Hay.  She is also survived by her nephew, Randy (Jane) Moore of Monticello; her niece, Dede (Richard) Hughes of Warsaw, Missouri; and her dear friend, Carolyn (Melvin) Coonrod of Buffalo. 

In addition to her parents and her husband, she is preceded in death by her stepfather, Homer Parsley; granddaughter, Morgan Liane Hay; brother-in-law, James Moore; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Moore. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services celebrating Cody's life at 1:00 p.m. at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello, with Rev. Brian Beeks officiating. 

Burial will follow at the Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery in rural Monticello. 

Memorial contributions may be given to the Monticello United Methodist Church or to the White County Food Pantry. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
