Charles Arthur "Art" Goodwin, 74, of Remington, died at 7:20 am on Friday, August 31, 2012 at his residence. He was born on September 15, 1937 in Wolcott to the late James A. and Margaret H. (Humphrey) Goodwin. His mother survives in Monticello. His marriage was to Dottie Brown on September 3, 1960 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Remington. She survives in Remington. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Remington. He was a 1956 graduate of Wolcott High School. He was a bus driver for 42 years with Tri-County School Corporation and had also worked as an auto mechanic. Mr. Goodwin co-founded Goodwin Fire Equipment with his son, Steve Goodwin. He was a member of the Eagles formerly of Remington. He was a hardworking man and was dedicated to his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Also surviving are 3 sons, Steve (Cindy) Goodwin of Remington, Kevin (Nancy) Goodwin of Remington, Andy (Heather) Goodwin of W. Lafayette; 7 Grandchildren, Travis (Sara) Goodwin, Sarah Goodwin, Emily Goodwin, Seth (Kara) Goodwin, Cassie Goodwin, Gavin Goodwin, Gage Goodwin; and 3 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Goodwin. Visitation will be from 9am until the 11am Mass of Christian Burial at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Remington, on Tuesday, September 4, 2012 with Father David Hellmann celebrating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Remington. Memorials may be given to Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Remington or to Jasper County Hospice.
