Carrie Raye Thompson, 67, of Monticello passed away at her home on December 27, 2023.
Born September 20, 1956 in Lafayette, she was the daughter of the late Sonja Pauley and Raymond Collard. On April 4, 1976, she married the love of her life, Danny William Thompson at the Monticello Christian Church. He preceded her in death December 12, 2015.
Carrie was a graduate of Monon High School. She had worked at McGills, now Regal, as a metallurgical assistant until her retirement on November 30, 2023. She enjoyed anything hippie, dancing, going to casinos and playing slot machines, garage sales, donating to the food pantry, and doting on her Shih-Tzu fur baby, Murphy Jo. She also enjoyed Black Friday Shopping, and going to festivals including Brookston’s Apple Popcorn Festival, Plymouth’s Blueberry Festival, and many numerous music Festivals. Her favorite food was pizza, any kind from anyplace including homemade ones. Above all else, she cherished her family.
Surviving are her daughters, Brandi Collard (Scott) and Laci Thompson of Kokomo; grandchildren, JaVon Lloyd, Samuel (Madison) Collins, Darian Collins, and Shayna Collins, and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Danny, she was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Brenda Hershman and Teresa Kiser; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Norman and Carolyn Thompson.
Visitation will be at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral services celebrating Carrie’s life will begin at 7pm shared by close friends and family.
