Carolyn Weaver

Carolyn Jane Weaver, 82, of Logansport, formally of Idaville, passed away at 5:45 am, Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at Chase Center in Logansport.She was born on February 22, 1936 in Kokomo to the late Herman Eugene and Florean (Fouch) Goodnight. On October 5, 1952 she married Edward J. Weaver in Logansport and preceded her in death on July 27, 1973.She attended Idaville High School and later worked as a custodian for Pioneer Elementary School until her retirement in 2006 at the age of 70. As a child, she was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church in Kokomo. Carolyn had several hobbies and especially loved to read, garden, and cook, but her greatest passion was spending time with her family.She is survived by her children, Fred A. Weaver of Oregon, Sandi M. (Jon) Schmaltz of Royal Center, George E. Weaver of Idaville, Steve D. (Rhonda) Weaver of Royal Center, Phil (Jerica) Weaver of Burnettsville, Jane Weaver of Royal Center, Pete Weaver of Idaville and Amanda's fianc, Tom VanEs of Logansport; siblings, Judy A. (Harry) Weller of Logansport, Dick E. (Alice) Goodnight of Illinois, Joyce E. Crichfield of Idaville, Janet Freshour of Idaville, Mary "Kitty" Renner of Texas, and Linda (Dan) Gross of Idaville; 18 grandchildren, 2 step grandsons, 24 great grandchildren with one on the way, 6 step great grandchildren; and 45 nieces and nephews.She was also preceded in death by daughter Amanda Jacks; siblings, Dave, Bob, Joe, and Danny Goodnight; granddaughter, Corina Weaver; and brothers-in-law, Donald Renner, Richard "Dick" Freshour, and John Crichfield.Visitation will be Monday, March 12, 2018 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm, at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello.Funeral services celebrating Carolyn's life will be Tuesday, March 13 at 10:30 am at the funeral home with Rev. Scott Ellison of Crooked Creek Church officiating.Burial will follow in Bell Center Cemetery in Idaville.Memorial contributions may be given to Bell Center Cemetery.
