Carol June Toll

Carol June Toll, 80, of Monticello, previously of Eureka, IL, passed away on Saturday, May 27, 2023 at I U Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.

She was born on June 24, 1942 in Lancaster, PA to the late Silas and Rebecca (Histand) Graybill. On February 14, 1964 she married Robert Toll in Princeton, IL . He survives. Carol and Bob were married for nearly 60 years and she is 3 days older than Bob, of which he always reminded her.

She was a graduate of Christopher Dock High School and Philadelphia School of Nursing & Eastern Mennonite College in Harrisonburg, VA. Carol worked as a LPN for several years at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Eureka, IL.

She was always a big part of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren's lives. She was definitely the matriarch of the family and loved when everyone was able to get together.

She is survived by two daughters, JoAnne (Dwayne) Hampton of Monticello, Linda Birkey (Gary Hodel) of Roanoke, IL; two sisters, Sandra McNally of PA, Darlene Guerin of NY; five grandchildren, Drew (Kelsey) Hampton of Monticello, Sean Hampton (Morgan Michalski) of Bloomington, Kyler (Morgan) Vanderpool of Eureka, IL, Karlee (Jacob) Retz of Mackinaw, IL, Kole Birkey of Roanoke, IL; three great-grandchildren, Chandler and Gannon Hampton of Monticello, Isaac Retz of Mackinaw, IL.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Leon Graybill, and sister, Betty Lou Myers.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until the time of services at 5:00 pm Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello.
