Carl D. Bollei, fondly known as Bo , age 87, passed away peacefully on the beautiful gold and blue morning of Thursday, August 7, 2008. Bo married Francis Sally March on July 22, 1942. Survivors include two daughters, Ann (Mummert) and Jeanie (Moore); five grandchildren, John, Jami, Nikki, Lauren, and Ryan; as well as four great grandchildren. Bo served in the Navy during World War II from October 1942 through October of 1945. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Elks, Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Optimists Club, and the Jaycees. His home was in Logansport, Indiana until 1983, when he retired to Lake Shafer in Monticello. During these retirement years, he worked summers at Indiana Beach. For many of these years, Bo also enjoyed mowing the neighbors lawns and sometimes even painting their homes. From 1945 to 1967 Bo worked in the family grocery business, eventually taking over Bolleis IGA Superette from his father, Carl Sr. From 1967 through the late 1970s he worked as an assistant manager for Marsh supermarkets, first in Kokomo and later in Logansport. From then until his retirement, he worked at the Wilsons Meat Packing plant in Logansport. Bo was a special person who will be missed by all whose lives he touched.
