Betty Jean (nee Heims) (Erb) Perry, 92, of Greenwood, formerly of Monticello, passed away at 11:43 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2024, at Bickford of Greenwood.
She was born on Aug. 9, 1932, in rural Clinton County, Indiana, to the late Charley Mitchel and Sarah Helen (Smock) Heims. On Feb. 13, 1955, in Winamac, she married Kenneth Harold Erb, who passed in 1964. In Reynolds, on April 15, 1965, she married George Perry, who passed in 2015.
Betty was a 1950 graduate of Winamac High School. She worked at the Monticello Daily Herald Journal for many years with her friends.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Kenny and George, she was also preceded in death by her son, Ron Erb.
She is survived by two children, Toni (Dave) Wineland of Indianapolis and Charley (Shari) Erb of Hilliard, Ohio; five grandchildren, Jeff (Emily) Dawson, Christopher (Miranda) Wineland, Shelbi (Phillip) Welsh, Landon (Kaylee) Erb, Helen (Grant) Erb; and six great-grandchildren, Nicholas (Arin) Dawson, Averi Wineland, Luke Dawson, Chase Dawson, Collin Wineland and baby Welsh, expected in December.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Oct 5. 2024, at Springer- Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Oct. 5 at the funeral home with the Rev. Keith Raderstorf officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to an animal shelter of the donor’s choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
