Betty Lou (Pearson) Taskey, 87, of Lafayette, formerly of Monticello, entered into eternal rest surrounded by her family at her home, at 8:48 pm on Sunday, August 25, 2013. She was born on August 22, 1926 to the late John and Maude (Temple) Pearson at Adams Township, IN. Her marriage was to Carl Walter Taskey, Sr. on February 14, 1953 in Lafayette. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2004. She was a 1945 graduate of Jefferson High School in Lafayette. Mrs. Taskey was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. She moved to Monticello in 1974, she later moved to Lafayette to be with her daughter in the fall of 2004. Mrs. Taskey worked at Twin Lakes Coin Laundry for 6 years. She was a homemaker and care giver for many people. She worked at the Council on Aging in Monticello. Mrs. Taskey was the past president of Martha's and Mary's circle at the church. She was the past second vice president of Adams Township Home Ec. Club and still remained an honorary member. Mrs. Taskey was a life member of the VFW and the American Legion women's auxillary. She was most known for being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She loved the Lord. Mrs. Taskey had many friends and will always be remembered for her bubbly personality. She loved SCRABBLE and reading. She loved life and lived it to the fullest. She is survived by 3 daughters, Susan Haynes of Reynolds, Margo (Stephen) Klinker of Lafayette, Pamela (Rahal) Dealwis of Wells, United Kingdom; 2 sons, Carl W. (Kandi) Taskey, Jr of Battle Ground, Russell (Sheryl) Taskey of Lafayette; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren She was preceded in death by a son, David Eugene Taskey; 3 brothers, John, Ralph and Russell Pearson; 3 sisters, Mary VanMeter, Opal Collins and Wilma Roell. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2013 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Monticello. A rosary will be at 3:30pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church with Father Gerald Borawski officiating. Burial will take place in the Riverview I.O.O.F cemetery in rural Monticello. Memorials contributions may be given to the Disabled Veterans, P.O. Box 14301 Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
