Bette K. Huffman, 88, died, Tuesday, March 2, 2010 at Shands Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. She was born in Lafayette, Indiana at Home Hospital at January 9, 1922 to Charles and Eva Kestle. She married Robert Huffman on May 23, 1944, who survives along with sons, Jim and John in Jacksonville, FL. Bette was a graduate of Monticello High School, Class of Forty, and from St. Petersburg, FL College in 1942. She taught the 7th and 8th class at Yeoman School in 1943, leaving to be married. As a military wife and later as a tourist she enjoyed traveling many places in the U.S.A. and the world. As a Co Donor, she established four scholarshipsand was interested in promoting student interest in music and other subjects. Bette was an accomplished pianist specializing in music of the forties and fifties. Memorial Services will be held at the Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home later in the Spring.
