Barbara A. (Schomberg) Middleton, 85, of Monticello, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family.
She was born on November 17, 1936 in Indianapolis to the late William A. and Carmen (Leonard) Schomberg. On January 2, 1954 she married Ronald Middleton in Zionsville and he preceded her in death on December 21, 1988.
She was a graduate of Manual High School in Indianapolis and worked as a customer service rep. for Nipsco for 25 years. She loved fishing and enjoyed fishing trips to Canada, Florida, Arkansas, and Missouri. Most important to Barbara was her family and her faith in the Lord.
Barbara was baptized in the Olive Branch Christian Church in Indianapolis in 1948 and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Monticello for over 30 years where she was the financial secretary and served on the pastoral search committee.
She is survived by her children, Lynn (Ron) Deno of Monticello, Karen (Ken) Hall of Lafayette, Carmalee Middleton (husband, Anthony Wagner) of Monticello, Ron "Skip" Middleton of Monticello; 24 grandchildren; and several great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Barbara was also preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Schomberg, sister, Jane Faust, one grandson, A. J. Wagner and one granddaughter, Kinsey Hall.
Visitation will be from 11 am until the time of services celebrating Barbara's life at 1 pm on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with son-in-law, Ken Hall officiating.
Burial will follow in Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Community Foundation of White County with the memo specifying White County Animal Wellness Center. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
