Adeline A. Walters, 83, of Monticello, died at 11:10 a.m., Thursday, June 11, 2009 at Home Hospital in Lafayette. She was born January 27, 1926 in Lafayette to the late Fielding and Adeline (Miller) Oley. Her marriage was to Paul E. "Pete" Walters, and they were married for over 40 years. He preceded her in death October 3, 1990. Adeline was a graduate of St. Boniface, Lafayette, and was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. She was a homemaker. She liked to play BINGO, loved to read books, and was known as the "Book Lady". She also enjoyed game shows and sports, especially a fan of the Colts and Notre Dame Football. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. She is survived by, 2 Sons, Rick (Sandy) Walters of Idaville, Mike Walters of Monticello; Sister, Mary Landis of Mulberry; 3 Grandsons, Jason (Cyaleigha) Walters of Westfield, Ryan Walters of Lafayette, Brent (Melissa) Walters of Lafayette; Granddaughter, Mallory (Scott) Bothof of Lafayette; 9 Great Grandchildren; 3 Step Grandchildren; and 4 Step Great Grandchildren She is preceded in death by an infant son, David Walter; and a brother, Bill Oley. Visitation will be from 2 until 6 p.m., Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. A Rosary service will be held at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m., Monday, at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church with Fathers Gerald Borawski and Father James Goodrum officiating.
