Addie Elizabeth Altman, 84, of Monticello passed away at 8:36 a.m., Friday, April 3, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette. She was born to the late John Samual and Goretta Ann (Shell) Collins on October 11, 1924 in Monon. Her marriage was on July 20, 1944 to Albert J. "Bud" Altman in Monticello. He passed away on July 8, 2004 She graduated from Wolcott High School in 1942. Mrs. Altman was a homemaker. She was a member of the Palestine Christian Church in Wolcott. Mrs. Altman was a member of the Monticello Eagles Ladies Auxiliary for 45 years. She was also appointed Indiana State Eagle Mother for the 2008-2009 term. She enjoyed being a homemaker and gardening. Mrs. Altman also loved sewing and quilting. She was an avid BINGO player. Survivors include: Son, Jerry L. Altman of Monticello; 4 Daughters, Donna (Robert) Reed of Monticello, Cindy (Jack) Custer of Monticello, Beth A. (Randy) Miller of Monticello, Linda (Charles) Yawn of Monticello; 4 Granddaughters, Andrea Custer, Heather (Jack) Stout, Melissa (Kenny) Rice, Kathryn Miller; and 3 Great Grandchildren She was also preceded in death by her 3 Brothers and 1 Sister. Visitation will be from 4pm until 8pm, Sunday, April 5, 2009 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. An Eagles Ladies Auxiliary memorial service will be conducted at 7:30pm. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with Dr. James Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Palestine Cemetery near Wolcott.
